NEWS ( thru 'NE't and 'W'eb'S'ites)

WOW... Lot of happenings in the past month, I have listed those which I observed.

GLOBAL:

American President Election:
Even after all the bombings, invasions, joker (or total nuts??) like image, Bush has survived in the elections. As like one of the voters said, “I had to choose the less dumb guy!!” Guess in US too, people do not have too many good leaders to choose from. But even though I personally wanted to see Kerry win, "Analysts" say that as bush is re-elected, it is at least business as usual and no harm done in India-US relationships, rather than Kerry who is somewhat against Outsourcing.
And wanted to ask MR. Bush "country country what country do you choose?" this time?

Yasser Arafat's Death:
Militant turned National Leader turned Nobel Peace Prize winner, how could a man make this complete 180 degree turn in his life? Was he a blood guzzling militant or a genuine warrior in the struggle for the state of Palestine? I am not sure, but sure he was one of the most talked about people in this century. He might not have achieved what he wanted in his life time, but maybe his death brings peace in the region? May his soul rest in peace...

LOCAL:

Veerappan's Climax:
At last, after around 50 years of hide and seek games, abduction dramas, political moves, Big mustache Veerappan is finally dead under Mysterious circumstances generally called as "encounters" in India. Was he was captured before hand and after a couple of days interrogation he was killed? Or after surrender he was shot? or a "Genuine Encounter" that Veerappan and the STF people and god knows. But whatever might be, when even Saddam can be captured alive, why can’t he? I don’t get the story of the Police. As even common man knows his influence with political leaders, this might have been his destiny for long. I have read all kind of jokes regarding Veerappan in magazines and TV. But the Joke of the century was on that fateful day, BBC reported him "Robin hood of India". What to say of those dumb guys in BBC......

some unknown Samiyar (Swamyji / Holy man) arrest:
Saw that news on SUN TV, a Samiyar arrested in trichy (ya.. this time too its trichy, guess trichy + Samiyar = Poli Samiyar) in connection with his unlawful behavior. Authorities have found around 6 Crores (60 Million Rs) worth of jewelry and other stuff from him. My God, 6 crores... it is nearly 150 times of my yearly salary... How come these guys get this much of money? and that too he is relatively unknown... guess this blame should go to the people who does not donate any penny to any good deeds but give all the money to these kind of bogus, saffron guys who deceive them in the name of God. People must realize that if they believe in God, they also have to realize that they don't need any mediator in between them. By the way any one please tell me what's the English term for "Poli Samiyar"?

Jayendrar's arrest:
If the previous (above) arrest was a "solaipori" (tiny grain), this is compared to "yanai" (elephant). I was shell shocked hearing this high profile arrest and that too in connection with a murder case and that too he is the primary accused. What's happening? There have been always crooked guys, posing as "Swamiji" who were finally grabbed by police, but the one man whom I thought can never be involved in these kinds of issues is this person. Yes, I found him crossing lines sometimes involving in politics, infamous advertisements by commenting political leaders and their statements, involving in state matters etc, but never thought he might go upto this extent, I am saying this even though I studied in "Sri Sankara Vidhyalaya" school.

Jayalalitha's praising ceremony by film chamber guys:
Hmm.. She finally would have slept a good night sleep. After all that struggle, she made Rajinikant praise her in front of all. I always think that she can do anything if she wants, and if she puts her mind, can do wonders. And nobody can match her if she wants to do good for the people, but coming to reality she is jaya, a devil can be very very efficient and talented but can never become God.

Thanush and aishwarya:
First dialogue in my mind was "Pudichanda Pulian Komba"... she is 2 years elder, more educated, and daughter of "Superstar Rajinikanth", he manage to nungde in between her and the other guy "Simbu", Well done my boy... You have got yourself a guarantee card for all your films cinema industry.

Diwali:
The most expensive of all festivals in India, and this time personally most expensive to me... donno what went thru me but when I finished shopping for my dress, i was 6000rs poorer. But as confirmed by everybody I met, the enthusiasm was missing this year. even crackers kinda stuff was not heared even on diwali eve, maybe because of rising cost of crackers or rising consciousness with children, who knows, we would probably have a silent diwali in future?
